About James and John
St James and St John is one parish with two churches – one sitting on the hill in the pretty village if Havering-atte-Bower, the other (St James) in Collier Row. We share our buildings, using them on alternate Sundays.
If you need a theological view, then we would describe ourselves as being within the evangelical/charismatic strand of Christian belief and practice. A number of us have enjoyed New Wine camps and teaching. We accept the Bible as our guide for belief and conduct and aim to live for Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We have a number of groups to cater for all ages – checkout our diary page to find out about them all.
We would love to meet you at worship with us – here you can find directions to either church; and details of our regular Sunday worship can be found on our diary page.
We are a congregation of all ages, with many young couples and lots of children. Our worship style is relaxed and informal – we believe Jesus is alive today and our worship should reflect that.
The James and John’s Way
We can go forward trusting in the promises of God. That he will always be with us and that his love for us is unending. Even when we cannot see clearly the path ahead, when the darkness may seem to be around, the light of Jesus Christ is still shining brightly and can never be extinguished.
