We are here for you

Funerals at St James and St Johns

We are able to take funerals for those wishing to have a service for their loved one at St James’ or St John’s.

If you tell your Funeral Director your wishes, they will contact us for you. We will arrange to meet with you before the funeral to discuss the arrangements and to talk about your loved one’s life. Following the funeral we will make contact again and will invite you to a service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving later in the year.

St John’s churchyard is open for burials and interment of cremated remains. However there are restrictions as to who may be laid to rest there.

Our clergy can also take services at a Crematorium.

Please contact the parish office on 01708 721310 or email for more information.

Please note, due to the COVID-19 pandemic there are currently restrictions on the way Funeral Services are conducted. These include a limit of 30 people in total in church (that includes the minister and two others from the church), the mandatory wearing of face coverings (masks, not shields), and no singing is allowed. There are also restrictions on interment services in the churchyard. For more details on the restrictions, please contact us.
