Revd. Geoff Clarke Ordination Reflection

Geoff Clarke was Ordained on the 12th September 2020 at Chelmsford Cathedral By the Bishop of Barking, Peter Hill. He has kindly shared is Ordination Reflection with us.

Ordination Reflection by Geoff Clarke

It is four weeks now since I had my ordination service in the Cathedral. Reflecting on it now I realise what a deeply profound moment that was when Bishop Peter laid his hands on me and called down the Holy Spirit. I know that in that moment I was changed!

I can’t explain how but I know I am different. I have started to see things differently and knowing that I am part of the plan God has for this area and this church I am very excited about the things he is going to do.

Don’t get me wrong I am still Geoff, the person you have all known for many years, but in Ordination I am set apart to preach, to teach and to enable others to share God’s truth in this world. I am still coming to terms with the fact that God has called me to be a minister in His church but know without a doubt that my calling is genuine.

I spoke in church a couple of weeks ago about journey and how we are all on one with God. I heard his call three years ago that led me to this point. I just want to encourage you again to listen for that call and respond to it if it comes.

I am thrilled to be your new curate and hope that I can be all that God wants me to be to all of you that belong to Him and those that surround us that don’t know Jesus yet.
Blessings in Christ,

Revd. Geoff Clarke
