My name is Barbara and I have the privilege (for the second time) of being one of the four Church Wardens at St James and St Johns (St JJ’s) and always aim to do the best that I can, with God’s help.
I am blessed with five children, three of whom are step-children, and I love them like my own. My grandchildren are a real joy (and sometimes a challenge!!) and I love spending time with them and indeed with all my family and friends. I picked up a small plaque, crafted at Havering College, where I am a Learning Support Assistant. It reads “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you”. It’s so true, and I do love a challenge! , so I had to buy it!
I gave my life to Jesus in 1973, when my first son was born and have been part of St James for all but three years of that time. Those years I lived in the Forest of Dean, in Gloucestershire and worshipped at a local church there. My journey with God has been about understanding who He is, and how very much He loves each one of us and about who I am in Him, now that I am part of His family. That learning continues to this day and continues to amaze and inspire me. I have so many testimonies of how amazing God is.
